"Making a difference, one child at a time."
Welcome to my profile page! I have been teaching for the past nine years. Previously, I was working for the Lindenhurst School district in a Kindergarten-1st-2nd grade self-contained classroom.
This is my fifth year at Holy Family School and I am so happy to be working here. My first three years here, I taught 3rd grade which I enjoyed. Last year, I made a switch and taught 2nd grade. I am excited to be teaching 3rd grade again this school year.
I grew up in Lindenhurst but am now living in Commack. I graduated from St. Anthony’s High School. I received my undergraduate degree from Adelphi University in History with a minor in Childhood Education. I went to graduate school at Adelphi and received my Master's degree in Childhood Education and Special Education.
Throughout the school year we talk about various saints. I enjoy listening to my students share their favorite saint. My favorite saint is St. Anthony. St. Anthony is a very special saint to my family and I.
During my free time I am a dance teacher which I have been doing for many years. I also enjoy spending time with my niece and nephew.

What can students look forward to when they join your class?
In third grade we focus on learning multiplication facts. In January we began weekly multiplication mad minute races. The multiplication races motivate students to memorize their multiplication facts. We focus on various reading and writing comprehension skills. During the school year I love reading books aloud to my students as well as complete novel studies. My favorite books to read with my class are Beverly Cleary chapter books. In addition, we learn to write in script and by the middle of the year students are writing many assignments in script.
Message to Parents
Thank you for reading my profile and choosing Holy Family School. I look forward to meeting you and your child/children. The best way to commute with me throughout the year is email and the ClassDojo app. I use ClassDojo as a behavior management tool and to communicate with families. Additionally, I use Google Classroom where I post homework assignments, projects, test dates, and various other information.
