"Making a difference, one child at a time."
Where are you from?
I have been teaching at Holy Family School since 2012 and I am very excited to be teaching 8th grade Religion and 5th through 8th grade Social Studies. I spent my first four years teaching fifth and sixth grade in other Catholic schools on Long Island. I taught for two years at Holy Name of Mary in Valley Stream and then for two years at LaSalle Regional School in Farmingdale. I have taught 5th-8th grade during my time here at Holy Family.
I spent most of my life in Catholic schools, so I am excited to continue my career in Catholic education. I studied history at the University of Notre Dame. In 2012, I completed my Master's degree in Childhood Education.
As my students know, I am a big sports fan. My favorite team of all the teams I root for is Notre Dame's football team, but my favorite sport is baseball. The sport I played more than any other growing up was basketball and I have been coaching basketball here for several years.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling around the country and going to sporting events and historical sites. I have been to all 50 states and 35 current and former Major League Baseball stadiums.

What can students look forward to when they join your class?
Welcome to Mr. Mullaney’s Social Studies class! We will analyze primary and secondary sources in class during our in depth study of historical events. I have studied history for many years and find it very interesting. My favorite topics are the founding of the United States, the Civil War, World War II, and the Cold War. I hope you discover some topics that you find particularly interesting.
Message to Parents
Thank you for sending your children to Holy Family School. I have spent many years as a student and a teacher at Catholic schools and believe very strongly in the importance of Catholic education. I am looking forward to working with your children and helping them to succeed. Your children should be checking Google Classroom each day for their assignments. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].
