"Making a difference, one child at a time."
Hello! My name is Ms. Cassese and this is my first year teaching at Holy Family School. I am very excited to be teaching ELA to both 5th and 6th grade, as well as Religion to my 6th grade homeroom.
Although this is my first year as a teacher here, I am not new to the school. I am a parishioner and proud graduate of Holy Family (class of 2004!) and am so grateful to be back in the “family.” I am a true believer in Catholic education, as it is all I have ever known. I graduated from Holy Trinity High School and then Molloy College, where I received both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education.
My favorite saint is Saint Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint of animals, the environment, and the country of Italy. He gave up his inherited wealth to live a life of poverty, while caring for the poor and sick in Assisi. He believed that all creatures on Earth, humans and animals alike, should be treated as equals under God.
My favorite quote was said by Walt Disney: “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” This quote hangs in my classroom as a reminder to my students that their dreams and goals can be made a reality through hard work, determination, and, of course, courage.
My favorite books include the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald! I always find myself returning to these books, no matter how many times I have read them.
What can students look forward to when they join your class?
My students can look forward to a fun and supportive classroom environment, where everyone’s voice is heard and valued. They are encouraged to learn from each other and work collaboratively to complete assignments. I love to incorporate my students’ interests into lessons to create a sense of relatability and familiarity. I hope to inspire a love of reading and writing and an appreciation for literature in my students.
Message to Parents
Thank you so much for choosing Holy Family School to serve your children’s academic needs. As a graduate of Holy Family, I am so proud to give back to the same school that I spent most of my childhood years in. I have some of the best memories from my time at Holy Family and am still friends with many of my classmates! It is truly a wonderful environment to learn and grow in. I look forward to working with each of you to ensure your children receive the most meaningful education possible. I believe that education continues at home and I thank you in advance for your cooperation and investment in your children’s education.
