"Making a difference, one child at a time."
My name is Mrs. Tennant and I have been teaching at Holy Family School since 2016. This year, I will be teaching 5th grade math and science, 4th grade math, and K-8 Technology. I grew up in Lindenhurst, attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, and attended St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip. From there, I began my college career at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. I studied elementary and early childhood education and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 2010. After graduation, I moved to Chicago for 3 years where I taught preschool at St. John Berchmans School in Logan Square, Illinois. While teaching, I attended National Louis University in Chicago to receive my Master’s degree in Technology of Education. I was married to my husband Patrick in June of 2012 on Long Island. One year later, we moved home to Long Island to be closer to family and friends. In August of 2013, I had my first son, Colin. In 2014, I became a preschool teacher at a daycare in West Babylon and quickly moved up to the director position. After being at that job for a year, I became a stay at home mom again to my second son, Theodore. The year 2016 marked my return to the teaching profession, and I was fortunate to join the Holy Family community. In 2022, I became a mother for the third time to Rory, a truly precious addition to our family. Colin and Theo attend Holy Family and Rory will visit from time to time!
In addition to my roles in education and motherhood, I am also a licensed real estate agent, collaborating with my dad at Century 21 AA Realty in Lindenhurst. My real estate journey began in October 2015, and I have found immense satisfaction in this "side job." Furthermore, I am honored to serve as the 5th grade math curriculum lead for the Diocese of Rockville Centre since 2020. This role allows me to engage in fruitful collaborations with fellow lead teachers across the Diocese on a weekly basis.
As I reflect on my rewarding time, I eagerly anticipate the forthcoming months and years at Holy Family, excited to continue growing and learning alongside my students.
