"Making a difference, one child at a time."
Hello! My name is Miss Winsch and I am the Music Teacher for all students in Nursery-8th grade! I graduated from LIU Post with my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education N-12 and my Master's Degree in Childhood Education, Grades 1-6. I have previously taught music in public schools on the elementary and secondary level and was also a teacher's assistant and substitute teacher. This is my tenth year teaching at Holy Family School, thirteenth year teaching music in the Diocese, and fifteenth year overall in education. I believe that every child at Holy Family School should receive a solid foundation in music through singing, movement, instrument playing, and composing. Each class and grade level will explore these four components every time they have music. In my spare time, I love to exercise, cook, and spend time with my family. I look forward to another wonderful school year!

Favorite Quote?
“And while we sing, remembering to sing is to doubly pray. At once in our hearts and our tongues we offer double prayer sent heavenward on winged notes to praise God dwelling there.” - Saint Cecelia, patron saint of music
What can students look forward to when they join your class?
I want all of my students to develop a love and appreciation for music. I want them to discover their hidden talents and gifts and develop the confidence to perform and enjoy working with others in a safe and loving environment. I want my students to take from my class something that they may not have known prior, whether it be learning to play an instrument or listening to a piece of music from a style they may not have heard before. I want my students to enjoy performing in concerts and programs and develop friendships with students and bonds they will remember well after they graduate from Holy Family.
Message to Parents
Holy Family is a special place for our students where they are known for their many abilities and talents both inside and outside of the classroom. I look forward to finally getting a chance for your children to perform in our Christmas and Spring Concerts, a “missing piece” of the puzzle that was taken away from us last year. Your children make me proud every day and I love seeing the “ah-ha!” moments that take place inside my classroom. My classroom is a safe space for students to learn and love the gift of music.
