  • Teacher Information

Teaching children is my passion! There is no other job on earth that would bring me the joy I feel at the end of each day. I learned early in life that teachers touch lives. While growing up in Baldwin Long Island, I was lucky to experience teachers that were kind and compassionate. They smiled every day and enjoyed working with children. From my elementary school teachers to my junior high and high school teachers, coaches and club advisers, I learned firsthand that teachers are people who make a difference. It was at a young age that I realized teachignwas my calling.

With a Bachelor's degree from Molloy College and a Masters degree from Queens College I began my journey. My first teaching position was with the Oceanside School District where I remained until I was blessed with my twins, Mikey and Rosie, who were born in 2000. My husband and I took a leap of faith and I resigned from teaching in 2003 to begin a new life as a full time wife and mother. For eight years as an at-home-mom,  I have enjoyed being a scout leader, coach, camp counselor, Vacation Bible School teacher and director, Parent Teacher Association Vice President of Cultural Arts, tutor, substitute teacher, family vacation planner and traveler, but best of all.... an 'on-call any moment of the day' mom.

As my children reached their sixth grade year and began to gain their independence, it was time for me to re-enter the workforce. I began substitute teaching throughout Nassau County and discovered this wonderful school. When I received a phone call from Mrs. Doherty, the former principal, inviting me to join her team, I was elated.

I truly enjoy my days at Holy Family School. My library position during 2012 - 2013 was amazing and fulfilling. Whether I was teaching a whole class library lessons, helping individual children find a 'just right' book or working with students in support of school-wide programs, teaching all of the children from all grade levels was very rewarding. And now as a classroom teacher I am enjoying the mainy rewards that abound through working with the same group of children on a daily basis. I am so blessed having discovered Catholic Education and the incredible colleagues and families I have to work with here at Holy Family School.
