Mrs. Tennant
5th Grade Math and Science
K-8 Technology
My name is Mrs. Tennant and this is my sixth year teaching at Holy Family School. I am a 5th grade homeroom teacher and I teach math to both 5th and 6th grade. I also teach 5th grade religion. I grew up in Lindenhurst, attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, and attended St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip. From there, I began my college career at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. I studied elementary and early childhood education and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 2010. After graduation, I moved to Chicago for 3 years where I taught preschool at St. John Berchmans School in Logan Square, Illinois. While teaching, I attended National Louis University in Chicago to receive my Master’s degree in Technology of Education. I was married to my husband Patrick in June of 2012 on Long Island. One year later, we moved home to Long Island to be closer to family and friends. In August of 2013, I had my first son, Colin. In 2014, I became a preschool teacher at a daycare in West Babylon and quickly moved up to the director position. After being at that job for a year, I became a stay at home mom again to my second son, Theodore.
Besides teaching and being a mom to two crazy boys, I am also a licensed real estate agent and work alongside my dad at Century 21 AA Realty in Lindenhurst. I received my real estate license in October of 2015 and have been enjoying this ‘side job’ very much! In 2016, I decided to go back to teaching and I was grateful to have been offered a job at Holy Family. Both of my sons attend Holy Family! Colin is in 3rd grade and Theo is in 1st grade. I have had a very enjoyable 5 years and I look forward to the coming months and years at Holy Family!
