Woolly Mammoths- The children used many techniques in this project. They first drew their mammoths with oil pastels. Using oil pastel or crayon instead of pencil helps them to create larger drawings and not focus so much on erasing! They then painted their mammoth with white paint and quickly painted over it with brown paint. They used a wooden tool to scrape some "fur" texture into their mammoth. They then retraced their lines with oil pastel and added some details to make their mammoth complete. Finally they painted the background with watercolors. The children really enjoyed this project.
