3rd grade viewed contemporary artist, Iris Scott, located in Brooklyn, NY. This artist uses only her fingers to paint her works. Check out this video clip of some of her works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tPALdvRz14 The children looked at some of her "Shaking Dog" art and they drew their dogs in oil pastels. They used the double load brush technique to paint the bodies using blends of white, black, brown and yellow. They then used their fingers to add curved spots to emulate the water shaking off their dogs. They continued the look with splatter painting adding white, purple and blue! Most of the children named their dogs.
